Spring Round-up: Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor is making an effort to re-vamp the brand. I think that it is working for them! They have so many wonderful updated classics and the jewelry is to die for.

Rumor has it that they are holding open casting calls at college campuses country-wide to find their next "it" model. (Also, if you show your student ID, you get 20% off)

Here are my favorites...

New Crush: Lotus Bleu

Strolling around in Hayes Valley I came upon this adorable store, Lotus Bleu. There is sort of a Lilly Pulitzer vibe but a little more artsy. Here is some of the work they have done in interior design...

Here are my favorites from their store (beware of falling in love, this place isn't wallet friendly)...

New Mag/Site: Lonny

As with Rue Magazine introduced a few months back, online magazines are popping up all over the place.

Here's a new one to add to your list: http://www.lonnymag.com

It is similar to Rue in that there are beautiful spreads and some interesting information on design. Here are my picks from the 2011 Jan/Feb issue. Enjoy reading over the weekend!

Lucite Love

Ever since I've been following the design world (let's be honest, about 5 months ago) I've fallen in love with any piece of Lucite furniture that is placed in a traditional home.

It is so unexpected but fits perfectly. Also, it creates a more open feel in tight quarters. Here are my favorite Lucite picks, with all budgets in mind.

Hello amazing coffee table trunk...

How amazing is this room and gigantic table?!

What a fun way to design a studio...

A little tint of blue.

Now ready to get yours? CB2 has a wonderful collection of chairs, tables etc. They are all very affordable. Take a peek.

What Resolutions?!

If these don't make you hungry...

Katie Quinn Davies, a beautiful food photographer, take pictures that not only make food feel like art but also make me crave some gooey, warm melted chocolate. Yum.

One Room, Three Ways

I was just playing around on my computer this weekend and decided to design a few rooms. I am very excited to share this with you! Here is my idea of one room three ways.

I can't list everything out and where it is from but I pulled from CB2, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, Urban Outfitters and Pottery Barn. Just ask if you want to know where something is from. Enjoy!

#1 Yellow and Gray Room

This is my dream room. A little modern, a little traditional. I love all of the textures and the shiny accents. The best part is that everything in this room is relatively affordable. Mmmmmm....

#2 Blue and Cozy Room

This room is very neutral except for the pops of blue throughout. Again, I am at it with the shiny accents. There is also a hint of luxury with the marble coffee table (the best steal ever, $299 from CB2) and the velvet and fuzzy Mongolian sheep's wool pillow.

#3 Color Me Crazy

This room focuses around a fabulous colorful rug and a expensive-looking piece of art mirror ($199, Crate and Barrel). The Lucite coffee table (difficult to see in the picture) allows the rug to be center stage.

So what is your favorite room? Which one is your style?

Weekend Adventure

This weekend I had a little adventure. Granted I didn't go far but that is what I love about living here!

I went to Flora Grubb gardens which I wrote about when first starting this blog. It was a beautiful tropical oasis in the middle of the city. It was full of lovely inspiration. Thanks to the Hipstomatic app, these pics turned out artsy and beautiful.

*Oh and the last pic is from Humphry Slocombe, the heavenly ice cream destination in the Mission. This flavor--toasted white chocolate lavender. Mmmmmm.

Gray Sparkle

Lately I have been into dark gray jewels. They are mysterious and unique.

Right now my nails are painted a purpley-gray called "Smokin' Hot" from Essie and maybe that is what has me inspired.
