The holidays are a blogger's paradise because they are filled with lots of shopping, cooking, entertaining and beautiful moments (ok that last thing was a little cheesy) I tend to get overwhelmed flipping through all of the sites thinking "ooh I should bake that" "that would make a perfect present" "how cute is that nail polish?!" So to help you (and lets be honest, me) a little, I have rounded up the must reads from this week.

1.Orange Gingerbread with Cream Cheese Frosting - Joy the Baker
2. Beautiful gift guides - Note to Self
3. Rue Holiday Issue
4. This shoot is guaranteed to make you smile - designlovefest
5. The cutest holiday kitchen - Bright.Bazzar

For Thanksgiving I went to Napa with my family. Although I am originally from Seattle, since my sister moved down to the Bay Area, we decided to do Thanksgiving down here. It was one of the best Thanksgivings in recent memory. It was so relaxing and calm. It was also filled with plenty of delicious food and wine tasting.

The leaves were stunning against the blue skies. We enjoyed 70 degree weather throughout the trip. I hope you enjoy the pics and had a nice Thanksgiving. I have included some of the links to places we went during our trip in case you ever make it up to Napa.

Frog's Leap
Scribe Winery

FARM at the Carneros Inn
Culinary Institute
Bistro Jeanty
Marshall Store

Hotel Yountville (beautiful place!!)

The last thing that you want to stress about during the holidays is getting dressed for holiday parties. During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it is important to have an outfit ready for any occasion. I always am on the hunt for the perfect dress--one that is comfortable and danceable (yes, I just made up a word) I found this dress at Madewell last year and they've decided to make a similar version again this year!

Because the dress is so sparkly it shines on its own. But there are endless possibilities with accessorizing it too! I went with the dark oxblood red that was popular throughout the fall with classic jewels that are reminiscent of old world Russia (maybe its all of those Anna Karenina previews). Here's what I am thinking...

Aren't those shoes incredible?!

Those of you that follow the blog on a regular basis know my love of jewelry. I am always on the hunt for a new source for beautiful, unique jewels. While I have never visited the store in person, Fragments in New York seems to have it all.

They have a beautiful selection of fine jewelry...

And plenty of more affordable options as well...

Perfect for a holiday gift for a special someone (or yourself!)

Just like that, its winter. Time for layering and scarves. Also time to consider whether making the bed cozier is a good (hello warmth) or a bad thing (can't...get...out...of...bed).

These pictures have me dreaming of a comfy bed to get me through these winter months (and a beautiful fireplace)

I've said it before and I will say it again, Pinterest is an amazing tool. It brings things together from all over the internet into a curated collection of beautiful objects.

While browsing online I saw a beautiful tote from Lotuff. These bags are an investment, but they will last for your lifetime and only get more gorgeous with age. Plus they are made in the US.

Here's how I envision wearing their pieces...

If I could have something on every wall in my apartment (and not look like an artwork hoarder) I would. It seems like there are countless options for quality, unique pieces of art out there today. I like to think that artwork can be like throw pillows--you dont want too many pieces but you can switch them up all of the time.

I came upon Sharon Montrose's work and I love how playful yet sophisticated it is. It looks great in a large size but looks equally as nice with a mat around a smaller image.

Here are a few of my favorites:

For the most part I am a more is more kind of girl. More colors, more textures, more candles (that's a separate problem) But recently I have been loving simple, clean, modern kitchens that have luxurious materials like marble and brass that warm them up a bit. Maybe its the fact that my current kitchen has a 2'x2' tiled counter space that has me envious of these spaces. Also, when I cook its not usually like the contained kind of cooking, there is typically flour all over me, hot butternut squash all over the oven and gooey caramel stuck to the stovetop. I would love to have the space to make a big mess (and clean it up of course!)

I really do love everything about fall. I know people say that all of the time but there is something special about retreating indoors, spending more time visiting people and getting to eat pumpkin everything.
